Looking forward to seeing you at the farm!

FAQ & Policies

HOW DOES WEEKLY ORDERING/PICK UP WORK?

We'll text/email you every week before  we harvest, and you'll have until 9 am on Tuesday to add extras to your order, or to notify us if you need to skip the week's share. Our policy is if you don't pickup by the end of your pickup window, you forgot your box, and it's donated on your behalf. We appreciate your understanding that we cannot make exceptions to this rule.

WHAT IF I GO ON VACATION/HAVE TO SKIP A WEEK?

While we'd never advise skipping your veggies, we understand that life gets busy! Every week, you'll receive a text message/email alert when our harvest starts, with the option to “skip” by 9am Tuesday to opt out of the week's order at no charge (full season members will receive a full week's credit to use on their next order).

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY SUBSCRIPTION WHEN THE H ST NE FARMERS' MARKET CLOSES?

The H St NE Farmers' Market runs from April 6 to December 21. During the winter you will have the option of continuing your CSA membership and regularly scheduled deliveries at a new pickup location or at home (for an additional $10 fee per delivery). If you decide that is not a convenient option for you, we'd be happy to end your subscription early at no charge and invite you back in the spring!

CAN I MAKE REQUESTS?

Absolutely! As a bonus, we grow speciality fun products for our members upon request. Shoot us an email with what you want to see us grow, and enjoy other specialty items we reserve exclusively for our members (like baby ginger and broccolini 🥦).

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT'S COMING UP IN MY SHARE?

Our weekly newsletter is sent every Monday, so you’ll know what we’re harvesting (and what recipes to use!). Else, you can expect to hear from us primarily through SMS/Text Message.  We’ll alert you before we harvest with the option to shop add-ons, or skip the week’s order at no charge. Make sure to save us in your contacts–we’ll text you again when your order is ready!

Member Tips & Resources

Preserving Your Produce

We get it—bringing home a box bursting with fresh, unfamiliar produce can be a bit overwhelming. No worries! Consider us your culinary compass, steering you with fresh recipes and tips.

Storage Tips:

‍

We harvest our produce at its prime, ensuring peak freshness and longevity compared to grocery store counterparts. Follow these tried and true tips to make that farm-fresh flavor last:

  • Get your farm box to a cool location ASAP. Nothing ruins fresh produce faster than the hot sun! If you’re out running errands, we recommend making the farm your last stop to avoid spoilage. If you get delivery, please be sure you have a shady spot for us to leave your box.
  • Take the tops off your carrots and beets right away when you get home to preserve freshness.
  • Wash, dry, and store your greens in a bag (our favorites here!) with some wet paper towels and place in the fridge.

Remember to thoroughly wash all produce before consuming!

Kitchen Tools & Gadgets

Level up from CSA Member to CSA Master with tools and gadgets handpicked to help you maximize the enjoyment of your farm box.

  • Salad spinner: Quickly clean and dry CSA produce, saving time and ensuring freshness. Efficient, convenient, and enhances longevity.
  • Good kitchen knives, along with a knife sharpener (or local business who sharpens knives!).
  • Reusable glass containers and mason jars to keep your food as farm-fresh as possible.
  • Sheet pans for roasting delicious veggies!
  • Food processor: The one “big-ticket” item we recommend. Use it for making salsa, pesto, pizza dough, and pureeing items like soups and sauces.
